Positive: Beachcombers is indeed a clean, comfortable, well-equipped house in a lovely position where you can easily walk into town and to the shore. The owners have furnished the house very thoughtfully. 10/10.
Negative: We were greatly disappointed by the pervasive smell of cigarette smoke in the house. We did complain but no one came to call. Also, the thermostat on the shower did not work and the water ran too hot. And surely the Housekeeping team should notice that the toilet flush in the bathroom was not functioning - when cleaning the place? A shame the house is not well maintained. The rubbish outside was overflowing. In addition, it was a shock to have paid and then be presented with a bill of 25 pounds for extra insurance or a deposit of 250 pounds!! Booking.com used to say the charges were up front. Later, I did see this deposit mentioned in the last paragraph for the description of the property. Not to be repeated by us.

Positive: The bedrooms were very nice, kitchen and lounge fine, location fine.
Negative: We were looking forward to using the bath, but the water in the bathroom was not hot enough, water in the shower fine. The heating seemed only to come on at certain intervals and was not on in the evenings, the front panel on the boiler was off , looked like someone had been working on it. Did not like having to pay an amount to avoid leaving a deposit to in case there were damages "Damage waiver £25" surely your insurance covers this ?We never have paid this before with Bookings.com.
